I have very painful fibromyalgia and have tried many types but get confused with the dosing. I have been told a person needs to have some level of THC to make the CBD work and that is the trick finding the sweet spot. Does anyone have a really good dispensary that takes the time to actually work with you on dosing? I much rather be taking MMJ than the tramadol I am on for pain.
When it comes to pain, research indicates that neuropathyand cancer related pains have seen the best success with treating the condition using medical marijuana. Additionally, medical cannabis has been shown to improve muscle spasms, particularly in those suffering from multiple sclerosis.
Even under “back pain,” skeletal and muscular pain are strikingly different. Identifying the cause of pain — which is sometimes impossible — is critical for finding an effective, “traditional” treatment. There are two major problems relating to traditional chronic pain treatments (which may have started to become clear based on the information above). These are just a few of the many studies that have been completed and are pointing patients toward something promising, something better. The positive effects of CBD are truly stunning, and we’re just starting to uncover the potential for more.
“We know that chronic pain patients also have a number of other morbidities, like stress, anxiety, and depression. I’m interested in the possibility that cannabidiol might also have mechanisms by which we can relieve some of those additional problems,” says Dr. Alexander.
The added oils are necessary to increase the amount of CBD oil the body can absorb and process. In states that have legalized medical marijuana for pain, addiction and opioid overdose rates have dropped. This matters because it has implications for how we treat pain and how we assess the value of medical marijuana. It also helps illustrate how — despite its DEA Schedule I status that declares it has "no currently accepted medical use" — most research indicates there are indeed potentially important medical uses for cannabis. Sometimes you might get unexpected pain flare-ups caused by cold weather, injuries or excessive activity.
